Are you aware of what is in your food?
Many food providers and producers do not bring full awareness to the ingredients and parts of the products that they make and sell. Many companies hide ingredients to promote it as healthier. For example, Gatorade is known as a "healthier" drink than soda. It is promoted as being a healthy alternative to drinking soda. However, Gatorade contains as much, or more, sugar as soda. Recently, schools across the country have been replacing soda in vending machines with Gatorade. Another example would be flavored drinks. Most "fruit flavored" drinks do not include the actual fruit. The taste is coming from an artificial chemical.
I completely agree that gatorade is not as good for you as soda. Gatorade is actually prone to damaging and staining your teeth giving you infections and cavities. The only reason gatorade is advertised as a good drink is because it gives a lot of electrolytes and energy for athletes. I am not saying soda is a good alternative, I am just saying that gatorade is not as good as soda.
ReplyDeleteI still believe Gatorade is healthier than soda, but clearly not by much.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Gatorade isn't healthier than soda because it hasn't been scientifically proven that it is in any way healthy. Replacing soda for Gatorade isn't helping the "Healthy Drink" stigma that the schools are trying to make because Gatorade has as much sugar in it as soda.
ReplyDeleteGatorade is not very healthy for you and is full of sugar. This sugar will cause people to become more obese, but since it is looked at as "more healthy" for you people will continue to consume way more sugar than they need to.
ReplyDeleteGatorade is unhealthy for you, I agree, and its bad for your teeth too.
ReplyDeleteThe hiding of information from the public surrounding food is wrong. The public deserves to know what they are ingesting and how it will effect their health. The same goes for medications, and other products in our everyday lives.
