Animal Cruelty

 The new bill of PACT act is soon to go on Donald Trump's desk. The PACT, the preventing Animal Cruelty, and Torture Act, passed Congress. In conclusion, Donald Trump has a chance to change animal cruelty to a federal crime.

    Although Trump has the chance do you think he really will focus on this issue at all? It seems to me like the president only focuses on a couple large country issues at a time. It would be really important if he supported this because animal cruelty is a serious issue that keeps getting worse.

    I think Donald Trump should most definitely make animal cruelty a federal crime because it it basically the same as human cruelty. Animals are living, breathing, sentient beings just like us. Without a law in place whose going to protect these animals?

Ethos, pathos, and logos are 3 main persuasive tools discussed in class and by Heinrich in chapter 4 in "Thank You For Arguing". These are described as Aristotle's Big Three, ethos or argument by character employs your credibility and knowledge. The various impacts humans have on the environment are common knowledge at this point, but what a lot of people don't know is the permanence of their actions. Recovering from future effects, and many of the impacts we've already seen, will be far more difficult than many people realize. For example, the Amazon Rainforest. Are you aware of what is in your food?

Many food providers and producers do not bring full awareness to the ingredients and parts of the products that they make and sell. Many companies hide ingredients to promote it as healthier. For example, Gatorade is known as a "healthier" drink than soda. It is promoted as being a healthy alternative to drinking soda. However, Gatorade contains as much, or more, sugar as soda. Recently, schools across the country have been replacing soda in vending machines with Gatorade. Another example would be flavored drinks.
