Refuse, Reuse, Reduce, Recycle
We know look at things as refuse, reuse, reduce, recycle instead of reduce, reuse, recycle. Today I read an article on electrek on the climate crisis. This weeks crisis was "What would the world look like in 2030 if we stopped climate change?"
The mayor of Venice blames the record flood they recently had on climate change. On November 12, 2019 they town had there second largest flood they have ever seen. with the sea-level recorded at 187cm, which is 6 feet and 2 inches. It brought severe damage to the city due to the fact that the city was submerged in more than a meter of water. The mayor said that the drastic change in the tide is the result of climate change.

Scientists are constantly doing research to show how climate is changing. In this article scientist are in the Amazon in Brail discover a way to prove this stance. They are saying that "if another fifth of the Amazon goes it could pass an ecological point of no return." We need to make a change in this world to end the climate crisis. Like Hailie said in the group about climate change on of the ways to do that is to vote. Have a voice and stick up for what you believe is right. We can make a difference and stop the climate crisis.
Fun Facts I learned in this article:
1.) Women were more likely than men to believe more should be done
2.) Roughly 3/4 of voting-age young people, 30 and under, want to see more action to fix the crisis
3.) About 1 in 4 of the votes between 45 and 64 said that the country was doing enough to fight the climate change crisis.
I completely agree with you on our climate change crisis. The flood very well could have been due to climate change due to water levels rising with the ice melting. Another thing happening due to climate change is the melting of the Antarctic. There is a hole in the middle of Antarctica the size of Maine. If we as people do not make a change then the world as we know it will be too late to save and it would just be a matter of time until we are no longer on this earth.
ReplyDeleteI agree
ReplyDeleteI think the last fun fact you listed is the most interesting. I say this because I think it completely makes sense that the people who did this to our country wouldn't care if we took any more action. It also doesn't matter to this group of people because it most likely won't impact them.
ReplyDeleteThe fun facts were mind blowing to me that young people want to see climate change and people aren't doing anything about it. People will start realize it sooner or later when earth is slowly deteriorating and it is affecting peoples daily lives.
ReplyDeleteI had not realized how bad our climate changes really are especially with older generations not doing anything to help the crisis. Knowing that 3/4 of the voting for this crisis is younger generations is shocking. I understand that older generations are not as stressed about this issue, but they should at least be more aware of what is happening. Everyone should contribute to help this issue, not just a small portion of the population.
