Animal Rights
Over the past weeks I have done a lot of research over the topic of animal rights. An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the United States for scientific and commercial testing. The types of testings vary between things that can cause an animal stress, harm, pain or even deprivation from essential living needs such as food and water. Animals deserve to have just as many rights as do humans. They are living creatures just as much as we are, but they don't have the ability to speak for themselves. Many animals are mistreated and there is so much more that we as citizens can do to prevent this.
I personally agree with you, these animals shouldn't be put into pain or harm just for some commercial testing that doesn't even need done. These animals need the same amount of freedom as us humans have.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Many people don't realize how many animals suffer each year due to testing. It is humans responsibility to advocate for these animals because they do not have a voice of their own. Animals have feelings and deserve just as much respect as humans do.
ReplyDeleteI also agree. Testing on animals is a cruel, and unjustified process. There are many other ways of testing. Some companies will even pay people to be tested on. I believe that animals should be out of the question for testing. It is so much more humane for people to volunteer.
ReplyDeleteI 100% agree with what you said about animal rights. Many animals are smarter than humans and capable to do the same things we are. They just don't have the ability to express their problems like we do. Animals being mistreated is a serious problem and needs to be cracked down on to create a better living environment for nature.
ReplyDeleteI certainly agree that animals shouldn't be subjected to abuse or severe cruelty. There should be a certain level of respect towards all living things. Animals can experience pain and emotion, and that should always be considered but they are not people, and they should not be held to the same status. Animals do not need to have the same rights as people. As the dominant species of this world, animals are here for the benefits of the human race. With certain animals that's food, with others companionship, but they aren't equal and it's not realistic to pretend they are. Yes. the way some animals are kept in the food industry is terrible, and the testing they are used for can be terrible, but often times the testing is used for products that will better the lives of people. The advancement in technology is important, and it will always be better to prove things safe for humans with experimentation on animals, than to endanger the lives of others. That's not to say it's "okay" or even civil, but it's the lesser of two evils for the betterment of society.
